A new perspective: Italian beaches seen from above

When German photographer Bernhard Lange came to Italy and visited the Adriatic coast, it was love at first sight as he immediately understood the photographic potential of what he had in front of his eyes: a multitude of colorful beach umbrellas laying on the beach symmetrically, which could create a very strong visual impact if...shot from high above. Bernhard Lange is not a first timer as he has been shooting bird's eye views during the last five years, catching panoramic photos of Florida with his camera.

That's why he decided to hire a plane and fly above the Italian coast, putting a distance between the crowded beaches and himself to record a different and more beautiful perspective: "On the ground you're in the middle of the crowd and part of the beach life of the resort. [In the air], you're a beholder, not part of the scene," he told Wired.
