Alberobello is famous for its unique architecture and specifically for the white houses characterized by a stone conical roof, known as Trulli. About their technical construction, these are small, round houses made of white bricks, then grey stones and above this, they feature conical roofs built up of corbelled limestone slabs.
It is a main tourist attraction in Puglia all year round, even in winter as there, it snows almost every year and becomes a majestic scenery with the Trulli covered by a white coat. Walking the streets, you can find small bars and cafés, restaurants as well as shops with traditional products such as linen clothes, olive wood crafts etc. Some of them are even housed in Trulli buildings.
