There’s something romantic about a train. There’s something even more romantic about a train in Italy! Making your way through Italy with the clickity-clack of rails beneath you is a wonderful, freeing experience…IF you have done a little homework beforehand to prepare.
Whether your goal is absorbing endless days of Renaissance art in Florence, lounging beachside along azure Ligurian waters, or nibbling Crucolo cheese while hiking the Alpine meadows of the Dolomites, travel using Italy’s immense railway system is a convenient and relatively low-cost option to car rentals. And although it is possible, it’s certainly a lot harder to get lost when going by train!
