The 2014 bilateral trade in goods between Italy and United States exceeded 42 billion EUR, with Italian exports growth to the US outpacing those of the BRICS. Italian exports have increased in the services sector, which continues to be driven by the the good performance of the tourism industry in the bel paese.
In terms of Foreign Direct Investments, Italians invested 3 billion USD in the US during 2014. The recent publication of ISTAT data point to a positive trend in bilateral trade. In 2014, the total trade amounted to EUR 42.3 billion (+ 9.6%), with Italian exports amounting to EUR 29.8 billion (+ 10.2%) and Italian imports to 12.5 billion EUR (+ 8.3%).
