Castiglione della Pescaia, in Tuscany, is the Italian seaside destination with the best tourist offering in terms of quality and environmental sustainability. The ranking is published every year by the "Blue Guide" of Legambiente (Italy's largest environmental group), in collaboration with the Italian Touring Club, which for 2015 awarded the Tuscan town its highest prize, the "five sails."
The award is given to locations that demonstrate their ability to manage their territory in such a way as to protect the environment and the landscape, to offer excellent services and to preserve their historic centers, their architectural and cultural heritage, while also promoting also high-value food and wine.
