In the near future of healthcare, logistical efficiency could be impacted by the widespread and systematic use of drones, transforming the sky into a new distribution infrastructure. Imagining that a blood bag or a life-saving drug could travel several hundred meters above the ground and land with precision (with use cases ranging from islands to mountainous areas, to temporarily isolated regions) is already possible today.
In this area, Italy is playing its part thanks to a series of projects developed by various companies. A specific case, which combines technical expertise with social vocation, is Aetos, promoted by two innovative small-to-medium enterprises: Unmanned4you from Naples and drone manufacturer FlyingBasket from Bolzano.
