
Italy has sounded the alarm over the pace of Europe's landmark trade negotiations with the US, warning that they are in danger of failure unless negotiators can secure an agreement by the end of next year.
Carlo Calenda, Rome's trade envoy and vice-minister for economic development, said that only weeks remained to make a "fresh start" and rescue what would be the world's biggest trade deal.
