Father's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world, but it is only observed on March 19th in those with Catholic traditions, such as Italy. This is because, according to belief, Saint Joseph, the “adoptive father” of Jesus, died on March 19th.
 
On Saint Joseph's Day, Italy features many different traditional sweets from various regional cuisines, but the most famous is certainly the one from Campania: the zeppole di San Giuseppe, a fried choux pastry filled with soft custard and topped with a cherry.
