Conducting the "Airport Service Quality Award" survey was the international trade association for airports around the world, Airport council international (ACI) World,. Aci World analyzed the preferences of about six hundred thousand passengers at more than 400 airports around the world, based on more than 30 indicators related to the airport experience at departures and arrivals.
In addition to the "Best Airport" award, it honored the excellence of Rome Fiumicino in all the categories considered, which evaluate different parments, from staff to airport cleanliness: Airport with the most dedicated staff in Europe, Easiest airport journey in Europe, Most enjoyable airport in Europe, Cleanest airport in Europe. To date, only nine airports in their respective geographic areas have achieved levels of excellence in all sections considered by the ASQ Award, but these are airports with traffic of less than 15 million passengers per year. Leonardo Da Vinci is the only airport with more than 40 million passengers globally to have achieved this.
