Following the path of water, on Trentino Alto-Adige Waalwage

By: Francesca Bezzone

The peaceful majesty of the Dolomites is what comes to mind when we think about Trentino Alto-Adige. The region is popular among lovers of nature, trekking and skiing, as well as a favorite for gourmets, who enjoy its Mittel-Europa-meets-Italy take on cuisine.

The region is also incredibly fertile and bountiful, something you may not necessarily associate immediately with a mountainous territory: agriculture – including viticulture – has been one of Trentino Alto-Adige’s lifelines when it comes to its economy, especially thanks to the local production of quality fruit like plums, cherries, pears and, of course, apples. In fact, most of the apples we find in our supermarkets in Italy come from Trentino!
