Set in the depths of the Sicilian countryside, this rustic Ragusa property is ringed with traditional dry stone walls. Le Edicole has undergone a renovation by architect Arturo Montanelli, who restored the villa’s weathered stonework, contrasting it with new elements in steel and wood.
A floating metal staircase leads to the upstairs rooms, which are tucked beneath sloping ceilings and the original wooden beams of the farmhouse. Downstairs an open-plan living and dining space is framed by exposed stone and concrete, and includes a fireplace – for the cooler months.
