The Italian government's "Art Bonus" tax break program for attracting private donations for cultural heritage has raised more than €100 million from over 3,000 donors and is set to cover a wider range of sectors and be spread more evenly across the country, Culture Minister Dario Franceschini said.
"This is the start of a journey that must last at least 30 years. We are on the right road, but we could grow a lot more and in a more balanced way across the nation," Franceschini said on the sidelines of Estates-General of Culture, organized by Il Sole 24 Ore-ItalyEurope24 in the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, in collaboration with the National Academy of St. Cecilia and Poste Italiane.
