The four giants of the CERN in Geneva – which is directed by the Italian scientist Fabiola Gianotti - were back in business yesterday to find out what lies beyond the Pillars of Hercules of the current, hard-earned physical laws.
ATLAS, CMS, ALICE and LHCb are the tools that, placed on strategic points of the 27-km ring of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), CERN's super-accelerator of elementary particles, will be used to collect the avalanche of data coming from such microscopic and violent collisions of elementary particles.
