Elena Cattaneo, a leading stem cell researcher in Italy, has been selected 2013 Stem Cell Person of the Year by the Knoepfler Lab at University of California, Davis.
A modest monetary acknowledgement compared to more famous science prizes, to be sure, but researcher/blogger Paul Knoepfler, whom I interviewed earlier this month, instituted the award last year to help raise awareness of the importance of the stem cell field.
