Aaron March and Nadya Ochner sealed mixed parallel slalom team gold for Italy at the World Championships in Georgia. In Bakuriani, March and Ochner overcame the Austrian pairing of Andreas Prommegger and Sabine Schoeffmann in the final to claim the title. Italy just missed out on a second medal, with Maurizio Bormolini and Lucia Dalmasso losing out in the bronze medal race shortly before the final.
Dario Caviezel and Julie Zogg of Switzerland prevailed in that race to complete the podium, in the first time the discipline has been contested at the World Championships. "I rode really good, but it was easier being the first - you just go and maybe be some behind or in front - but Nadya did really a great job because as being the second you have more pressure to close it," said March.
