Two pieces of news confirm Italy's leadership in the world of tourism. The first concerns luxury tourism: over 9 billion euros in 2024 were spent on luxury tourism in Italy, recorded by 5-star and 5-star luxury hotels, representing 16.8% of the total Italian hotel offer, estimated at just over 54 billion euros.
Between 2008 and 2024 (excluding the pandemic years), the luxury tourism segment saw a significantly higher average growth compared to the overall hotel sector. Specifically, the number of stays in hotels increased by an average of 5.2% per year, while in 5-star and 5-star luxury hotels, growth reached 9.2% per year, nearly double the sector’s average.
