Italy’s recent widespread influence in Los Angeles—and the city’s influence on the world—has now reached the pitch. European soccer icons AC Milan have announced a fourth kit collaboration with L.A.-based brand PLEASURES, with the two designed iterations slated to be used in two separate games—against Napoli and Monza on Feb. 11 and 18.
The designs take influence from both sides of the sea, showing hints of Milan’s intricate gothic architecture and the punk, grungy influences of L.A. “AC Milan is a globally iconic team. Growing up in an Italian American neighbourhood, AC Milan was the only team that mattered,” Alex James, founder of PLEASURES, says. “My life comes full circle as now my brand PLEASURES gets to create in collaboration with PUMA.”
