Italy is top of world agro-food standings in terms of the UNESCO-recognised Italian products, the UN cultural body said Friday. Italy holds the world record for UNESCO awards in the agro-food sector with five out of the 68 allocated globally, it said.
It is followed by Morocco with four Unesco recognitions, three for Turkey and Azerbaijan, and two for Belgium, France, Spain, Tunisia, Japan, Korea and Mexico. The new UNESCO report on food and culture, of which ANSA has been able to see a preview, was presented at the UN conference in course in New York on the future of the Mediterranean diet.
