Italian film 'La Grande Bellezza' (The Great Beauty) has been nominated for a Golden Globe award, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association said Thursday. Paolo Sorrentino's film, compared by some to the work of the great Federico Fellini, has been nominated as Best Foreign Language Film in the awards to be announced next month. The Golden Globes honour the year's best film and television productions, and are often seen as a pointer for the Academy Awards, announced several weeks later.
The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 12, 2014 and hosted by comediennes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. 'La Grande Bellezza' will also be Italy's contender in the upcoming selection of the five nominees for the Academy Award for best foreign language film.
