Domus de Maria, a lovely seaside destination near Cagliari, has won the 2016 title for "Italy's most beautiful beach." Pollica, in the province of Salerno, known as the "pearl of Cilento" and as the world capital of the Mediterranean diet, placed in second position while Castiglione della Pescaia, in the province of Grosseto, came in third.
The ranking was prepared by Legambiente and Touring Club Italiano for new Guida Blu, a useful guide that is printed every year with the aim of providing information to people in search of the most beautiful Italian sea and lakes.
