Matteo Bernini from Livorno (Tuscany) is the world checkers champion after a challenge against the title holder, Lubabalo Kondlo from South Africa. The challenge in Tulsa, Oklahoma, began on April 25 for the assignment of the world title Gayp, Go as you please or free move. Twenty-two out of 24 matches were played. The Italian Matteo Bernini was already the winner of the Gayp Challenge, played in 2019.
During the match, the champion from Livorno was supported by Michel Borghetti, a multiple world champion. Italy now holds (again) both English checkers titles. Congratulations Matteo!
