Milan has been listed as the number one fashion and luxury goods shopping destination in the world, according to research by SEA — the operator of the Italian business capital's principal airports — and consulting firm Pambianco Strategie di Impresa.
The research was based on a series of "qualitative interviews on a sample of international trend setters," SEA and Pambianco told WWD. It revealed that the top reason tourists visit Milan is to shop. Pambianco head David Pambianco and SEA President Pietro Modiano publicly shared the report results — which confirm Milan is the top place for luxury goods and fashion hunters — at the Italian city's Malpensa Airport on Thursday.
