Centopassi, the winery whose name honours the heroic legacy of Peppino Impastato, is part of Libera Terra, a cooperative that cultivates land confiscated from the Mafia in the Alto Belice Corleonese. These fields, once abandoned, have been reclaimed for agriculture, creating a powerful opportunity for social redemption and the promotion of the land and its indigenous grape varieties.
Spread across the provinces of Palermo and Agrigento, this untouched yet rugged region is perfectly suited to viticulture and high-quality production, thanks to favourable temperature fluctuations, altitude, winds, and soil composition. The vineyards, all cultivated under organic farming principles, stretch across 12 different districts, each with unique terroirs: limestone soils for Grillo, sandstone and clay for Catarratto, and the solid bedrock that nurtures Nocera and Nerello Mascalese.
