Four new gold medals for Italy. On the top step of the podium yesterday went Martina Caironi in the 100-meter T63 running, and then three more golds from swimming: Alberto Amodeo in the 100-meter butterfly S8, Stefano Raimondi in the 200-meter mixed S10, and the Italian 4x100 Free mixed relay team that also broke the world record with Stefano Raimondi, Giulia Terzi, Xenia Palazzo and Simone Barlaam.
Martina Caironi had been the protagonist together with Ambra Sabatini and Monica Contrafatto of the splendid triplet at the Tokyo Games, and all three were also in the finals yesterday. At the finish line, however, Sabatini slipped and ran over Contrafatto, who also fell. In the end, third place was awarded to Monica Contrafatto, but unfortunately Sabatini could not make the podium in Paris as well.
Silver medals yesterday also for Italians Sara Morganti in the freestyle dressage and for Federico Mestroni, Luca Mazzone and Mirko Testa in the Mixed H1-5 relay, again in swimming, which also gave us Giulia Terzi's bronze in the 50 butterfly S7.
