More Italian medals yesterday at the Paris Paralympic Games. Assunta Legnante, the world's most medal-winning Paralympic athlete in athletics, is first in the F12 shot put. For Assunta this is the second French medal after silver in the discus, sixth medal at the Paralympics, third time champion in the weight after London 2012 and Rio 2016, with in between the silver in Tokyo 2020. On the field yesterday, Legnante sported another stunning mask, this time with the look of the Mona Lisa.
Table tennis also brings us satisfaction: two gold medals, with Matteo Parenzan in men's singles S6 and Giada Rossi is gold medalist in women's singles WS1-2. The last gold of the day came again in swimming from Simone Barlaam who won the 100 butterfly S9: it is the second gold in Paris for him.
Also in swimming, after his gold in the 100 freestyle, Antonio Fantin won another medal, silver in the 400 freestyle S6. Fourth medal for Stefano Raimondi at the Paralympic Games in Paris. After three golds, the Italian took silver in the 100 backstroke S10, narrowly missing out on first place.
For bronze medals, more swimming: after gold in the 400 style, Alberto Amodeo brings home a precious bronze in the 100 freestyle S8, while still in table tennis it's bronze for Carlotta Ragazzini in the women's SW3.
