Italy's magical moment continues at the European Short-Term Swimming Championships underway in Kazan, Russia. After yesterday's four medals, the Italian swimmers continue to give emotions and successes and today they bring home five. In particular, the Genoese Martina Carraro, who won the gold medal in the 100 meter breaststroke, did a great job. For Carraro, it is therefore an encore at the European Championships in short pool after the gold in Glasgow 2019.
Historic gold medal also for the men's 4x50 mixed that also conquers the world record thanks to the time of 1'30''14: really legendary the quartet composed by Lamberti, Martinenghi, Orsi and Zazzeri. A day to remember, in particular, for Michele Lamberti who, before the gold medal in the relay, won two silver medals in less than an hour, first in the 50m backstroke with the new Italian record for his category, then in the 100m dolphin.
Silver also for Simona Quadarella in the 800 meter freestyle: the 22 year old Roman, reigning European champion, is unable to repeat her performance and must surrender to a great Russian Anastasia Kirpichnikova.
