2015 has been a great year for Italian art. According to recently released statistics, 43 million people visited local museums creating something like 155m euro revenues for the government.
If we consider 2014 data as well, Italy registered a growth of 5 million visits in 24 months, with Colosseum (+6 per cent), Pompeii (12), Reggia di Caserta (16) and Castel Sant'Angelo recording the highest increases.
