After two years of false starts, Italian exports are finally accelerating in 2015. Exports have accelerated from 2% to 3.9%, doubling the rate recorded in 2014, and the positive trend is expected to reach 5% in 2017 and 2018. The figures are included in "Re-Start," the Export Report by Italy's export credit company SACE for 2015/2018, presented yesterday in Milan.
The report suggests two ways to boost the presence of Italian companies in international markets: strengthening the agro-food chain, as well as identify the most promising countries for all Italian products through a new indicator, the Export Opportunity Index, which "measures" the best potential markets for every single category of product in a list from zero to 100.
