The Pompeii Antiquarium museum reopens to public 36 year after the Irpinia earthquake

Almost 36 years ago, in 1980, the Irpinia earthquake caused the closing of  Pompeii's Antiquarium and the site's world-renowned archeological museum was forced to lock away in its warehouses its immense treasure made of statues, casts, amphorae, votive ornaments and so on.

A few days ago, all these objects were finally brougth back to light and exhibited to the public in a multimedia museum that lets the visitor experience the atmosphere of the ancient city of Pompeii and the eruption of the Mount Vesuvius that buried Pompeii in ash, preserving it forever.
