Vehicles, machinery and clothes are the "Made in Italy" sectors that export the most to the US. According to data from national statistics office ISTAT, these three sectors together exported goods worth more than €18 billion to the US in 2015.
Looking in more detail, exports to the US in 2015 totalled €7.6 billion in the Italian vehicles sector, €6.9 billion in the machinery sector and around €4 billion in the textiles and clothing industry. Italian food sector exports to the US were also significant (€3.5 billion).
