The most beautiful hotel in the world is in Tuscany, near Montalcino. Among the hills and rows of vines stands the Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco, an accommodation that is considered the best in the world. Pushing it to the top of the podium is a prestigious U.S. magazine, a true benchmark in travel and hotellerie, namely Travel & Leisure.

Every year the millions of readers and followers of the 'bible' for travelers can vote on their experiences around the world, thus the 'World's Best Awards' are born, and for 2022 the scepter for the best hotel goes to Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco. In the world's top 100, however, there is room for other places in Tuscany, especially Florence.

Just a stone's throw from the village of Montalcino, in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, lies the world-renowned resort. It consists of 42 suites, 11 villas, two restaurants, a cooking school and a spa. It also includes one of the most historic wineries producing Brunello di Montalcino and a private golf club.

Surrounding the village are 2,000 hectares, 62 of which are vineyards, and it is here that the famous Brunello wine is born. The resort achieved an almost record-breaking score, touching 100 and reaching 99.25 overall. This is the highest rating ever received by a hotel facility.

There is not only Montalcino, however, in the world's top 100 hotels. With a score of 98.25 and at position number fifteen we find Florence. On Lungarno degli Acciaiuoli stands the Portrait Firenze, a luxury hotel highly rated by the Travel & Leisure audience. On Piazza della Repubblica, also in Florence, we find hotel number sixty-eight in the ranking. The Hotel Savoy takes a rating of 96.47.

So there are three Tuscan establishments in the top 100, two from Florence, making Florence one of the most awarded cities. In total, Italy appears 11 times in this ranking: Tuscany is the second region for facilities behind Campania with four.

Not only that. Travel & Leisure also awarded Terme di Saturnia Natural Destination, in Saturnia in the Tuscany region, the only Italian spa among the top 5 in the world in the Best Destinations Spas category of the annual World's Best Awards 2022.
