Technological innovation, scientific research, and the aerospace industry are the focus of Italian Ambassador to the United States Marco Peronaci’s visit to San Francisco and Seattle, two major hubs of innovation and economic development on the U.S. West Coast.
The itinerary includes meetings with representatives of leading technology and aerospace companies, including NVIDIA, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Blue Origin, and Starlink (SpaceX). The Ambassador will also visit prominent research and innovation centers, including the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, affiliated with Stanford University, and Multiply Labs, a company specializing in biotechnology and advanced manufacturing.
In San Francisco, Ambassador Peronaci is scheduled to attend the 2026 Marconi Awards Gala and Institute Forums, an opportunity to celebrate Guglielmo Marconi’s legacy and the contribution of Italian innovation to scientific and technological progress. The visit will also include a stop at the de Young Museum.
In Seattle, the itinerary includes a meeting with Mayor Katie Wilson and visits to some of the region’s leading industrial and technology companies, including Boeing, Blue Origin, Amazon, and Microsoft. The mission will also provide opportunities to meet with the Italian community and local business leaders, helping strengthen ties between Italy and the Pacific Northwest.

While San Francisco and Silicon Valley are leading centers of technological and digital innovation, the Seattle area plays a prominent role in aerospace, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure. We are already doing a great deal, including through Innovit, and we firmly believe that supporting our companies operating on the West Coast is crucial to Italy’s growth, particularly in technology,” Ambassador Peronaci said.
