Described as serving creative and modern authentic Italian cuisine, Autentico restaurant, located at 124 South Street in Oyster Bay, is quickly becoming a staple after opening its doors in 2016. Known for using farm-fresh and locally sourced ingredients, Autentico offers modern and seasonal takes on some of the most traditional Italian fare. The restaurant’s head chef, Francesco Pecoraro, previously operated a restaurant in Italy and has brought the same culinary touch to Autentico:
“Working both summer and winter seasons, I have been able to travel throughout Italy, which offered me the opportunity to compare the various traditions of the many cities I worked in,” he writes on Autentico’s website. “This encouraged me to start experimenting myself and moved me away from a traditional style cuisine toward a more interpretive Mediterranean style…I hope to bring my own personal style of Italian cuisine to America.”
