A longtime township resident was honored by the Township Committee on Tuesday, Jan. 26, for having been named 2015 "Woman of the Year" by the Center for Italian & Italian American Culture. The recipient, Janice Mariana Fields of Darren Drive, has lived in town for 24 years and served in numerous community and civic roles.
In an official resolution, the committee noted that she is "proud of her Italian heritage, and credits it to her fiery energy and no-nonsense approach to her professional and personal life." Known for being outgoing, opinionated and cheerful, she drew warm praise from committee and staff members.
