Bocce is a game of Italian origin similar to lawn bowling played on a long narrow, usually, dirt court. Players roll heavy balls in an effort to stop as near as possible to a smaller ball, called the pallino. The first player/team to score 16 point wins.
For the past 36 years, St. Anthony's Italian Festival in Seneca Falls has played host to a bocce tournament drawing players from around Central New York. Players compete for prize money up to $1,000 for first place.
