The first session of the 2014-2015 Boston Immigration and Urban History Seminar will take place on September 23, when Natalia Molina of the University of California—San Diego will present on the role of history, memory, and the vernacular landscape in a Los Angeles neighborhood's evolving identity.
Subsequent sessions will introduce us to Mexican cowboys in San Antonio and L.A., life on the streets and docks of postbellum New Orleans, interpreters on Ellis Island, the social and economic geographies of postrevolutionary New York City, Boston's Chinatown after WWII, and Chinese railroad laborers.
