Check out "The Presepe Napoletano – More Than a Nativity Scene” with Anita Sanseverino this Saturday

This Saturday January 10th, join acclaimed photographer and lecturer Anita Sanseverino for a captivating presentation on the Neapolitan Presepe—a timeless Italian tradition that goes far beyond a simple nativity scene. Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, 420 Tompkins Ave., Staten Island, NY. RSVP here.

More than a depiction of Christ’s birth, the Presepe Napoletano reflects everyday Neapolitan life, blending faith, artistry, and local culture. The tradition flourished in the 18th century under King Carlo of Naples, evolving into a celebrated form of high art.

Through stunning photography and personal stories, Anita will take guests along Via San Gregorio Armeno, Naples’ iconic street of Presepe artisans, and explore how this tradition has been lovingly preserved both in Italy and within Italian American communities.
