Several students from the Clark Public School District were honored as the 2025 Columbus Day Essay Contest winners by Clark UNICO. Winners included Carleigh Roesch, a fifth grader at Frank K. Hehnly School; Alyssa Sodhi, a fifth grader at Valley Road School; Leon Li, an eighth grader at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School; and Lia Simitz, a junior at Arthur L. Johnson High School.
Roesch wrote about Guy Fieri, Sodhi wrote about Christopher Columbus, Li wrote about Amerigo Vespucci, and Simitz wrote about Andrea Bocelli. Students were given certificates as well as gift cards.
