ClimateTech cohort at the Italian Innovation and Culture Hub

By: Italian Consulate in San Francisco

Last week, Innovit - Italian Innovation and Culture Hub launched its newest ClimateTech cohort, welcoming 16 Italian scaleups advancing innovative solutions to global climate and sustainability challenges. The cohort highlighted both the depth of Italian entrepreneurship and the diversity of ClimateTech innovation, spanning clean energy, circular materials, smart mobility, food safety, and citizen-driven renewable energy initiatives.

The program began with welcome remarks from Consul General Massimo Carnelos and Consul Davide Corriero, and continued the following day with the inaugural Student Pitch Night, where students from La Scuola International School presented original, climate-focused ideas to the ClimateTech cohort founders.

The event also featured a conversation with Andrea Carcano, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Nozomi Networks and La Scuola Parent, along with Bilal Zuberi, Managing Partner at RedGlassVentures, who reflected on entrepreneurship, climate responsibility, and the importance of nurturing creativity from an early age.

The cohort was publically unveiled at DemoDay, bringing together investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners to explore the latest innovations in ClimateTech. The week concluded with a reception hosted by the Consulate General, where the Consul General continued discussions on how Italian innovation can expand across the United States, fostering meaningful connections among founders, institutional representatives, educators, and the broader innovation community.
