Mahopac's Columbus Day Parade and the Evening at the Piazza have been postponed due to the expected inclement weather. The Mahopac Street Fair, however, is still a go. The parade, which was scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, at 10:30 a.m., has been moved to Sunday, Oct. 9. Parade line-up will be at 1:30 p.m. and step-off is slated for 2:30 p.m. that day. The location is the same: it starts at Route 6 and Lake Casse Road.
The Evening at the Piazza, which was scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Chamber Park on Route 6N, has been moved to Oct. 9 as well—at 3:30 p.m., after the parade. It's an evening of great Italian food, music, and festivities, so mark your calendar. Giulio Cefaloni, president of the Mahopac Italian American Club, which sponsors the parade and the Evening at the Piazza, said it was a difficult decision to make.
