Director David O. Russell is known for his up close and personal style of filmmaking, but it was one of his fans who got hands-on at a screening of American Hustle in Hollywood on Sunday.
The mystery lady, wearing a chic red dress, lavished attention on the filmmaker, clasping his hand and whispering in his ear after he had accepted the Filmmaker of the Year trophy at the Los Angeles Italia film, fashion and art festival. David – whose mother, Maria, is Italian-American – smiled along and appeared to share a joke with the lady, who appeared far more interested in the director than his film.
