Children and grandchildren of former Italian prisoners of war at Letterkenny Army Depot have grown up hearing stories of the soldiers' experiences building the historic Letterkenny Chapel in 1945, before the POWs were repatriated to Italy.
About two dozen of those children and grandchildren will be in Chambersburg on Oct. 23 and 24 for a reunion celebrating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the repatriation of the 1,250 Italian soldiers detained at Letterkenny.
