The Artichoke originating in the Mediterranean region, is commonly used in Italian dishes such as salad, pizza, and pasta. Common preparations of the artichoke include roasted, grilled, pickled, and cooked Jewish-style. Otherwise known as carciofi alla giudia, the Jewish-style artichoke is a staple in Jewish-Roman cuisine.
This dish referred to as Jewish-style because the artichokes are fried in a very specific way.
