A new 20,050-square-foot Italian food marketplace may soon be joining Houston's diverse food scene. A project called Eataly was recently registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Eataly, an Italian grocery chain, has locations in Las Vegas, Dallas and other cities. Existing locations offer features such as marketplaces, restaurants, and culinary classes.
Scheduled to begin construction in January 2026, the project is described as a "hybrid space that combines a mix of restaurants, specialty marketplaces, cafes, bars and grab and go food counters", according to the TDLR website. The renovation will be in a retail space at 5000 Westheimer Rd. in the Centre at Post Oak and is projected to be completed by fall 2026, according to the filing.
