The latest Eduscopio ranking gives a fresh snapshot of Italy’s top secondary schools, based on how well their graduates fare at university or in the job market. This tool compares similar types of schools (classical licei with classical licei, scientific schools with scientific schools, and so on) and ranks them according to metrics like first–year university success – average grades and credits earned – or job placement after a technical or vocational diploma.
In 2025 the top spot for overall university–oriented high schools went to a scientific–applied institute in Este (Padua province), where computer science replaces Latin. With a near–perfect score, it stands out as a national benchmark – proving that excellence isn’t limited to large cities. Other high–scoring schools come from smaller provinces, in provinces like Cuneo and Belluno, showing that top education can be found across Italy.
