“In the seventies, as a young man, I started the "Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare" (New Company of Popular Singing), a musical band that took inspiration from unknown southern singers and started traveling around the world. Then "Brigands of Southern History" was formed, after that "Migrants from the Mediterranean" took place and finally "Taranta Power," a movement that marked the entry of Italian ethnic music into World Music.
