Ferrucci Community Service Award Nominations

By: Vicky Carabini

The Ferrucci Institute for Italian Experience and Research at Chapman University is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2027 Ferrucci Institute Community Service Award. This award recognizes individuals who have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to promoting Italian language, culture, heritage, and traditions within their communities.

We were delighted to honor Valentina Martelli as our 2026 award recipient, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the Italian community.

Like last year, the 2027 award will be presented during our annual Italian Perspective event at Chapman University's Musco Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 3, 2027.

We invite you to nominate an individual whose dedication, leadership, and creativity have made a difference in preserving and sharing Italy's rich cultural heritage. Nominees may be recognized for their contributions in education, the arts, cultural programming, historical preservation, or community engagement.

A panel of Ferrucci Institute Board members will evaluate nominations based on innovation, leadership, community outreach, impact, and long-term commitment.

Individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by another person or organization.

Nomination Deadline: January 15, 2027

The award criteria and application form can be found on the Ferrucci Institute website:

We encourage you to share this opportunity with others who may know a deserving candidate.

We look forward to recognizing another outstanding individual whose efforts continue to strengthen the appreciation of Italian culture and heritage in our communities.
