The pastor of St. Florian Church in Chicago is leveraging his Italian heritage to raise funds for his struggling parish. “St. Florian is a very, very poor parish, and the Fall Fest has historically been our main fundraiser to help us through the coming winter,” the Rev. David Simonetti explains.
This year’s fest has morphed into a “gala spectacular” dubbed, “One Night in Rome: One Night to Remember.” The event will run from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 in the church gym at 13145 S. Houston Ave. in Chicago. Rev. Simonetti has personally donated thousands of dollars to transform the space into the Eternal City.
