Council tabled a debate until the end of January surrounding how much lead contamination still surrounds the Italian American Sportsman's Club, during Tuesday night's municipal council meeting. At that meeting an environmental watchdog group, The Delaware Riverkeeper Network, brought their own licensed site remediation professional (LSRP), to back opponents of a 52-unit single-home development on the grounds of the club.
The former grounds of two firing ranges, concerned neighbors worry if the professional assigned to manage the cleanup is following guidelines to ensure no lead contamination is left in the soil, before development begins.
