Starting Thursday, a strip of Hertel Avenue will be transformed into a 4-day celebration of Italian food, music and culture. The Galbani Cheese Italian Heritage and Food Festival of Buffalo is kicking off its 29th year along the "Little Italy" section of North Buffalo.
This year's festival will be packed with local food vendors, the annual Galbani cheese stacking contest and various different performances by local musicians. Another popular feature will return this year, allowing visitors to connect with genealogists who will trace family roots through a computer program located under the IlioDiPaolo tent.
